FAQ

What is EverythingLite?

An instant filename search tool for macOS, modeled on the Windows utility Everything. It searches file and folder names across internal and external drives and returns results in milliseconds.

How fast is the search?

Common queries return in 0.1–0.3 seconds on a library of 3.5 million files. It uses the macOS Spotlight index under the hood, so results stay current without building a separate index.

Does it search external drives?

Yes — any Spotlight-indexed volume, including USB and Thunderbolt external drives.

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS 12 Monterey or later, on Apple Silicon Macs.

How much does it cost?

$1.99 one-time (about ¥15). The free download is the full app; a license funds development. Pay once, free updates — never a subscription.

Is any data collected?

No. The app makes no network calls and collects no telemetry.

Why does it ask for Full Disk Access?

macOS hides protected folders (Documents, Desktop, Downloads) from apps without Full Disk Access. EverythingLite detects this and shows a banner with a one-click shortcut to System Settings.
